Sociology & Anthropology

Your gift to the Sociology & Anthropology Department will help recruit and retain students with a passion for their community. Whether studying the sociology of Appalachia, or digging in the dirt for their Archaeology Field School, Sociology & Anthropology students are busy working to help uncover and honor the history of their communities.

Many prospective and current Sociology & Anthropology students rely on financial support to make a four-year education a reality. Your generous support can help us give OHIO’s transformational education and experience. For experiential learning, it’s difficult to find a more hands-on learning experience than Archeology Field School. This program takes place over the summer, and students on site wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.

Our students and faculty are also always hard at work to bring the history and culture of our communities to the forefront, reminding us of where we come from and where we can go.

Give to the Sociology & Anthropology Department to support hands-on learning opportunities like:

  • Student scholarships
  • Support for field school
  • Research support for faculty and students

Thank you for your support!

"Three weeks into the program, I realized this is what I want to do forever. I went into anthropology so I wouldn’t have to work in a cubicle, now with archaeology I dig my own cubicle every day."
