Betsy Ross Koller is a contemporary American artist and southeast Ohio native who studied voice and English at Ohio University. She paints in the 18th century naïve art style, also known as the 'Grandma Moses' style. Her work has been used by NESTLÉ, the Sauder Living Village Museum and the Longaberger Company, and is on permanent display at galleries in Hermance and Gstaad, Switzerland. She has also written and illustrated a trilogy of children's books. Her work "Buchanan Square" was selected for the cover of UNICEF's 50th Anniversary catalog in 1996 over nearly 10,000 other considered works.
Koller has generously donated the rights to her four-part series of paintings featuring Ohio University, with proceeds from the limited-edition prints of her work benefiting specific University funds. “It is such a privilege to be of service to Ohio University in this very special way,” said Koller. “These prints are a heartfelt expression of my love for Southeast Ohio and Ohio University and my way of helping to open the doors to an OHIO education for deserving young scholars in the region who otherwise might not be able to afford that life-changing experience.”
Koller and her husband Paul, a 1962 graduate of the Fritz J. and Dolores H. Russ College of Engineering and Technology, have one son and three grandchildren. The couple resides in Naples, Florida.
