For 24 hours on April 8, Bobcats everywhere — across campuses, states and generations — will come together as one to give back to the place that forever changed us. By participating as a Giving Day Advocate, you play a critical role in the day’s success by rallying your networks and inspiring colleagues, fellow Bobcat alumni, friends and family to take action. Advocacy fuels momentum, expands our reach and drives a significant share of Giving Day participation. Together, we will move OHIO forward.
The success of Giving Day will be strongly influenced by the promotional efforts of dedicated Bobcats like you! You can help to promote OHIO Giving Day by sharing information about the event through your own communications channels. This toolkit provides information and resources for our Advocates and partners across Ohio University to assist in promoting this annual fundraising campaign. Thank you for being a part of OHIO’s 2026 Giving Day.
The OHIO Giving Day 2026 pre-launch site is live now! Donors who make a qualifying gift before April 7 can choose from one of four early giving incentives. Advocates don’t have to wait until April 8 to get started. You can begin spreading the word today!

How to Sign Up, Sign In, and Share
Sign Up
Visit givingday.ohio.edu and click the “Become an Advocate” button to Sign Up or Login. New users will create an account using your email (recommended) or Facebook. You will be greeted by name and can copy your Advocate Link. To track your OHIO Giving Day impact on your Advocate Dashboard, you may need to confirm your email. (Email users will get a message titled: Please confirm your account on GiveCampus.)
Sign In
OHIO Giving Day runs on GiveCampus. Already have a GiveCampus account? Visit givingday.ohio.edu and click the “Become an Advocate” button to Login — then login with your email or Facebook. You’ll know you’re logged into GiveCampus when you see “HI NAME!” in the top, right hand corner.
Share!
On April 8: Visit givingday.ohio.edu and navigate to the OHIO Giving Day page on you’d like to drive donors to (e.g, College of Business, Critical Needs). Click a social media icon to post your Advocate Link and message onto your social pages. Select “Copy to Share” to copy your link and share it wherever you’d like: email, text, social.
Advocate Incentives - Track Your Progress!
When using the buttons above to share your campaign link, the number of clicks, gifts, and dollars generated by your outreach will be tracked on the Advocates tab. It’s important to make sure that you are logged into your GiveCampus user account for your impact to be tracked next to your name. If you use the sharing buttons without being logged in, your impact will be tracked in the ‘Community Advocates’ group on the Advocates tab.*
We encourage our OHIO Giving Day Advocates to share early and share often! Sample social media posts and graphics can be found below.
- Giving Day Advocates who signed up before March 25 received an email from the Annual Giving team that included your Advocacy link. Those links will work to track your progress without following the steps above.
Each prize level includes all rewards from the previous levels.
